Show Racism the Red Card headed north for our first club event at Ross County FC on Monday 8th February.
We were joined by pupils from Dingwall Primary for a full day of anti-racism learning. The young people had the opportunity to participate in a carousel of anti-racism workshops that were facilitated by our highly skilled education team, Gillian Eunson, Derek Ferguson and Mickey Weir.
Young people then got to place their ‘reporter hats’ on and asked the panel a number of questions pertaining to racism, and how best to handle racist incidents. The panel comprised of Ross County FC’s Scott Boyd and Tony Dingwall SRtRC’s Derek Ferguson and Mickey Weir as well as local police officer John McLennan. .
Thank you to Ross County FC for their continued support in tackling racism and promoting equality. Thank you to the Scottish Government and the Voluntary Action Fund Equalities Unit for funding such valuable work that promotes equality in order to create a better Scotland for all. Finally, thank you to the teaching staff and young people from Dingwall Primary School for their valuable input and for engaging with SRtRC’s messages so positively!
