Chris Kamara, SRtRC Hall of Fame member
Sky Sports presenter, former footballer and Show Racism the Red Card patron Chris Kamara has this to say regarding the SRtRC 20th anniversary:
"Well done - 20 years of Show Racism the Red Card! Wow, time goes so quickly!
As Bradford City manager, back in 1996, I remember SRtRC founder member, Ged Grebby, being in touch to explain what his objectives were, using football as a vehicle to kick racism into touch. The 'Kick it Out' campaign, a few years earlier, had also contacted me, and I was more than happy to welcome Ged's foresight into adding to the same cause - the more the merrier, as far as I was concerned.
I was proud to be asked by Ged to accompany him on a trip to Dublin in 1998 for the first ever SRtRC overseas venture into schools and colleges, spreading awareness of what is and is not acceptable in our society.
It is because of organisations like SRtRC that the world is becoming a better place, where a person is now accepted for who he is, rather than being judged by his colour or race.
It has been a brilliant 20 years, with great progress having been made but, in the words of Ged, we are nowhere near being finished yet.....
Here's to another 20 years of success!"
