We delivered player training to academy players at Cefn Druids FC
As part of our ongoing academy player educational workshop program we visited Cefn Druids FC to deliver to the clubs U12-16 age groups.
This is the first educational session we have delivered with the clubs academy players which saw us educate over 20 players across 3 age groups.
Campaign worker Jason Webber attended the clubs ground to deliver an educational workshop to the players.
The workshop focused on explaining what racism is, how the players can deal with racism and the procedures and importance of reporting racism.
A key message for the players was the importance of how they represent the club particularly on social media.
The players were very engaged in the topic and had many experiences to share and questions to ask Jason.
The end of the session focused on terminology, specifically what words are acceptable or unacceptable in society, which cleared up any confusion amongst the squad.
The session was a big success and proved to be a productive way of delivering education about the topic of racism within the football environment. Players are more confident to engage in honest discussions and questions about a difficult subject.
Our next player training session will be at Prestatyn Town FC & Rhyl FC in March.

We would like to thank the club for supporting the player training program and the players for taking part in the workshop.
