Former Liverpool & England winger John Barnes will speak about racism in society at SRtRC fringe meeting as part of TUC Congress 14
Show Racism the Red Card are delighted to be holding a fringe meeting at this year’s TUC Congress 2014 which will be held at BT Convention Centre, Liverpool from 7-10 September.
The meeting, entitled 'Challenging Racism in UK Society' will be held in Hall 1b, BT Convention Centre on Monday 8th September between 12.45 and 14.00 p.m. and will be a unique opportunity to come together and discuss ways to ensure that communities remain free of prejudice and intolerance.
SRtRC campaign supporters from the worlds of football and trade unions will share their experiences of the charity’s work to challenge racism through education and will provide best practice advice to help challenge racism in society.
Guest speakers include former England international and Liverpool FC legend John Barnes & former Liverpool FC footballer & SRtRC patron Howard Gayle. Also speaking during the meeting will be Lynn Collins, TUC North West Regional Secretary, Glen Williams, Branch Secretary, Sefton UNISON SRtRC Campaign Worker James Kingett and Stephen Cavalier, Chief Executive of campaign supporters Thompsons Solicitors.
