Students from the Eastgate and St Edmunds primary schools in Kings Lynn, Norfolk have taken part in an event run by Show Racism the Red Card, in partnership with Norfolk Constabulary. See the Lynn News newspaper report here: http://www.lynnnews.co.uk/news/local/latest-local-news/football-stars-spread-anti-racism-message-to-king-s-lynn-youngsters-1-6072841
In the first of a series of events in the partnership, the students spent the day at the Discovery Centre, Kings Lynn with our inspirational educators Osei Sankofa and Steven Kabba. Also in attendance was PC Natalie Garrard who helped organize the event, who said that ‘the day was great, everyone had a good time’.
The students learnt about the dangers of racism and bullying, along with important life skills like critical thinking, improving self-confidence and team work. They also got to participate in football coaching with the ex-professionals, and take part in a Q&A session with PC Natalie Garrard, Youth Advisory Board member Bob Casey, and the Show Racism the Red Card educators where their burning questions were tackled.
There will be a further four events at the Discovery Centre in the coming academic year, which promise to be even better.
