Show Racism the Red Card visited with staff at Deaf Connections in Glasgow on 24.03.14 to deliver anti-racism facilitator training.
George McGowan and Tasnim Sharif of Deaf Connections in Glasgow met with Red Card Scotland Education Coordinator Dee Matthew to participate in a session in how to use Show Racism the Red Card anti-racism educational resources. The aim is to use the knowledge learned today to train staff and service users at Deaf Connections in how to recognise and safely challenge racism as part of the many positive programmes they run within the community.
Dee Matthew said, “We are thrilled to have begun working in partnership with Deaf Connections and hope the relationship grows in strength. The workshop activities we have used with George and Tasnim today are very visual and are designed to generate discussion and share opinions to answer questions such as, what racism is, how does it affect individuals and communities and how can we use our power and influence to safely challenge this damaging and divisive form of prejudice”
