Show Racism the Red Card Scotland took part in an evening of activities at Govanhill baths organised by Govanhill Community Alcohol Campaign Steering Group. Partners include NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Strathckyde Police, Licensing Standards and Glasgow Council on Alcohol.
Show Racism the Red Card hosted an information stand as part of an event organised by Govanhill Community Alcohol Campaign Steering Group. The event was to promote diversionary activities for young people within the Govanhill area designed to engage young people into healthy activities and lifestyles.
Information on promoting Show Racism the Red Cards anti-racism and anti-sectarianism message were displayed alongside educational materials and SPL team posters to compliment the key themes of the event.
The evening also included a street dance display, music from young people from the local Roma community, a DJ and a spectacular buffet.
Lee Craig, Health Improvement Senior (Alcohol, Drugs & Tobacco) NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde said “The event was really successful with more young people than expected taking part in the evening. Thanks to all the other organisations and partners that took part to make the event so positive.”
Dee Kinning, Education Coordinator said “It is always a positive experience to participate in community events. It is inspiring to see the work that is being done by other agencies and organisations to bring communities together; it reminds us that we don’t work in isolation.”
