Campaign now welcoming registrations from English schools
"I encourage all schools to get involved with this competition... the quality of the young people's artwork is always very high, the kids all love getting involved and Show Racism the Red Card is a really good and important message."
Christine Blower, General Secretary, National Union of Teachers
Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is pleased to announce that the School Competition 2013 is now open for registrations.
SRtRC have teamed up with Kick It Out, the national campaign to kick racism out of football, to publicise the competition far and wide.
The competition is open to young people of all ages and abilities in full time education and schools can now register online. Young people can produce artwork, creative writing, film and music entries with an anti-racism theme as their entries.
Winners of the competition will be rewarded with some fantastic prizes at a special awards ceremony at Stamford Bridge. Presenters of the prizes will include current and former professional footballers and other celebrity guests.
SRtRC and KIO would like to encourage every school in England* to get involved in this year’s competition. It is a great way for young people to be creative and explore anti-racism messages following activities and discussion of racism in a classroom setting.
Feel free to send any questions about the competition in England to firstname.lastname@example.org
* please note SRtRC operate separate competitions in Scotland & Wales, please see the Competitions section of this website for more details
