Show Racism the Red Card were delighted to spread their message at an event which broke Scottish football records.
On Saturday 23rd February over nine hundred young female players from teams across Scotland spent the day playing over 200 games of football at Pitreavie Playing Fields in Dunfermline.
Organised by Bayside FC, clubs brought their under 9’s, under 11’s, under 13’s and under 17’s to play each other in 15 minute games. The themes of the day were fun, friendship and football and the event proved to be an ideal platform to promote the anti-racism message.
Vicki Burns, Scottish Campaign Manager said “It was absolutely amazing to be invited to such a great day and see lots of smiling faces throughout, I saw excellent examples of teamwork and respect all through the day and am confident the future of Scottish Women’s Football is looking bright. A well done to the organisers at Bayside FC who have done an amazing job!”
Congratulations to all the teams who came along on the day, if you are involved with youth football and would like resources to promote the “Show Racism the Red Card,” message at your club please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
