Our Welsh team visited the Book People Stadium in Bangor for our 2nd event of the new year.
Another good event in Bangor in conjunction with BCFC who continue to show great support for the campaign in Wales.
Jason Webber - Campaign Worker
Our first club event held at the new Bangor City FC stadium took place with young people attending from Ysgol Cae Top Primary and Ysgol Rhiwlas Primary School.
The young people took part in a workshop delivered by the Welsh Education team with Chris Stokes and former professional footballer Christian Roberts talking to the young people about racism in sport and society.
The young people were engaged from the start with fun interactive activities and group work exploring the history of racism and the reasons behind its existence.
The event was supported by the Bangor City Football in the community officers who sat on the question and answer panel along with Christian Roberts.
The pupils now acting as media journalists as part of their role play session posed some tough questions to the panel and the best asked received signed match programs and Bangor City merchandise.
All pupils received SRtRC / Bangor City FC squad posters and also match tickets for a up coming game.
We would like to thank the schools for attending on the day and Bangor City FC for hosting the event.
