Show Racism the Red Card welcomes our latest patron
Former professional footballer Pat Nevin becomes our newest Patron.
In a 20 year career, Pat played for Clyde, Chelsea, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock and Motherwell. Pat has been a huge supporter of the campaign for many years and we are thrilled that he has accepted our invitation to become a Patron.
Pat Nevin, said:
'I have been working against the scourge of racism for 32 years now and we have certainly come a long way in this country, we cannot however afford to drop our guard.
Show Racism the Red card didn't exist in football when I started campaigning, in fact there was no voice in football attempting to make it an unacceptable intrusion in our national sport.
In the early days it was tough and I felt like an outsider making a stand. Now it is accepted that Football is leading our society in the wider campaign to make this nation a more inclusive place.
I am proud that it is now the case and am proud to be associated with the ongoing work that Show Racism the Red Card is doing.”
