SRtRC visited Aberystwyth Town FC for their annual club event.
It was another successful event at Aberystwyth Town FC this season and it was great to see Plascrug school attend and be pro active with anti racism.

48 Young people from Plascrug Primary school attended Park Avenue stadium for our anti racism educational club event.
The pupils took part in a workshop in the morning delivered by Christian Roberts and Chris Stoakes, discussions around how people experience racism and what the young people can do if they hear someone being racist took place.
During the break the pupils played football at the ground with many keen footballers amoungst the group showing off their skills.
The main event saw Aberystwyth Town FC players Jeff Kelloway and Rhydian Davies attend along with Aberystwyth Town Ladies FC player Sam Lumb and Aberystwyth University player Chris Heffrien.
The players along with Christian were asked questions on what the pupils learnt in the morning and were provided with some fantastic answers from the special guests.
Pupils were provided with prizes such as an Aberystwyth signed football and signed photos of the players who were present.
School teacher Alwyn Davies said of the event “I thought it was an excellent and informative day, the children have had the opportunity to discuss racism and culture not just in sport but society also.”
This event was Aberystwyth Town FC’s second ever event with SRtRC and Chris Howells supported the event on the day and further highlighted the clubs support for SRtRC, he said “We think SRtRC is a very important campaign and we will always continue to support it.”
Plascrug Primary School took part in the event last season and we are hoping we will continue to work with the school and the club in the near future.
