UNISON, the public sector service trade union pledges support for 2012.
UNISON is proud to sponsor Show Racism the Red Card. Our 1.3 million members work every day to provide the vital public services which help to build strong, safe local communities. Now, when so mnay of those communities face devastating spending cuts, tackling the scourge of racism - in our neighbourhoods, our workplaces and in sport - is more importnat than ever. We cannot let our communities be divided - together we are stronger.
Dave Prentis, General Secretary, UNISON
UNISON, the publice service trade union has become the first ever Platinum sponsor of Show Racism the Red Card.
SRtRC recently introduced a new sponsorship structure of Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsorship packages. We are delighted to announce that UNISON is the first sponsor to pledge their support at the top level.
The union has been one of SRtRC's longest standing supporters and has backed the campaign throughout our fifteen year history. UNISON is the UK's largest public service union and represents more than 1.3 million people providing vital services to the public.
Show Racism the Red Card is proud to be associated with UNISON and grateful for the generous support offered by General Secretary, Dave Prentis and all UNISON members. We hope other Unions will follow their example and pledge their support over the coming months at a time when the current economic climate means racism is on the rise and we must redouble our efforts to spread a message of tolerance and respect.
