Wendy is the newest member of our SRtRC team: we find out a little more about her...
Wendy Brown has joined the North East Education Team as an Admin and Support Worker. We asked how she is settling in to her new role and what attracted her to Show Racism the Red Card.
"I was very keen to work with Show Racism the Red Card as I have always been passionately against any form of discrimination. In the past I have volunteered for the team and having witnessed first-hand the brilliant teaching that the education workers undertake in primary and secondary schools I couldn’t have been more proud to have been offered the post and to start giving some real support to the education team.
"My role is to book in schools for workshops, creating the timetable for the day, organising the ex-footballers who will be attending and ensuring everything is arranged and in place for the education workers on the day. I also respond to all email enquiries and phone calls with regards to bookings, keep office systems updated and support the team at their events including football club and council chamber events.
"I have now been in post just over 2 weeks and have been welcomed in like one of the family! I really enjoy my role within the team and hope that I can keep them running smoothly as well as provide a professional and efficient service to all of you that are either booked in or planning to book in a workshop session in the future.
"I look forward to speaking to and working with some of you in the near future."
