SRtRC patron speaks to the BBC.
Show Racism the Red Card patron, Manchester Utd and England star Rio Ferdinand gave an exclusive interview to the BBC Football Focus programme this weekend.
Rio spoke passionately about the abuse his brother Anton has suffered in relation to the court case pending against John Terry for an alleged racially aggravated public order offence.
Rio is a long standing supporter of Show Racism the Red Card and has featured in several of our educational films and educational events for young people at Old Trafford. He has always given his time to anti-racism work and is a great role model, not only for young people, but also for other professional players.
Rio speaks of the progress made in tackling racism but highlights that "there are still great strides to be made". We fully support Rio and reiterate the fact we must strive to redicate racism from the game of football but also from the society in which we all live our everyday lives.
The full interview is still available on the BBC website.
