Former toon ace received his award during the Newcastle v Spurs game live on Sky Sports.
Former Newcastle United full back Olivier Bernard entered our Hall of Fame Award at St James’ Park on Sunday 16th of October during the Newcastle v Spurs game at half time.
Presenting the award were former Toon favourites Les Ferdinand and John Beresford, in the centre circle live on Sky TV.
Ged Grebby Chief Executive of Show Racism the Red Card said
“Olivier Bernard is receiving Show Racism the Red Card’s prestigious Hall of Fame (HoF) award for his tireless work with the anti-racism campaign. Olivier now works in schools with the charity’s education team and is a great ambassador for the campaign.
It is fantastic that two other recipients of our HoF have agreed to present Olivier and I am sure both Les Ferdinand and John Beresford will get a warm reception from the crowd. The campaign would also like to thank Newcastle United for their continued support over the last 15 years.
Racism has no place in sport and in society as a whole and Show Racism the Red Card are now playing a leading role throughout the UK combating the scourge of racism."
