Young people help to kick racism and bigotry into touch.
Around 75 Primary six and seven pupils from Blairingone, Moncrieffe and Pitcairn Primary Schools attended a Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) workshop hosted by St Johnstone FC at McDiarmid Park on Monday 19 September.
As well as being educated on racism and sectarianism, the young people met St Johnstone Manager Derek McInnes and first team players Murray Davidson and Sam Parkin for autographs and participated in a question and answer session on racism and sectarianism, went on a stadium tour and had a coaching session from the SRtRC Team.
The session was part funded by the Perth & Kinross Community Safety Partnership and supported by Perth & Kinross Council as part of their continued partnership with SRtRC and St Johnstone FC.
Councillor Willie Robertson, Chair of the Community Safety Partnership, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to reach some of our younger citizens, giving them an insight into the negative effects racism and bigotry can have. It continues our successful partnership work in this area."
