Steve Kean has became the latest in an increasingly long list of Managers to pledge their name and support to our cause.
Steve was assistant manager at Fulham FC for 4 years, before moving to manage Real Sociedad for 1 year and Coventry City for 2. SRtRC Patron Sam Allardyce appointed Steve as his new first team coach at Blackburn Rovers in 2010, for, as he put it, ‘[standing out] above the rest through his personality, experience and knowledge of football at the highest level.’ After Allardyce was released by Blackburn Rovers, Kean took his place as caretaker manager, and later signed a contract until 2013 to manage the club, after proving his worth.
Blackburn Rovers have been great supporters of the campaign over the years, producing team posters to be freely distributed to young people and hosting educational events for local school pupils where SRtRC are invited to run workshops.
We're really excited to have Steve on board as an honorary patron and we're looking forward to working with him and Blackburn over the course of the 2011/12 season!
