We interviewed Newcastle United's Shefki Kuqi who, as a child, had to flee Kosovo and claim asylum in Finland.
We are currently filiming for an updated version of our main educational DVD, Show Racism the Red Card, and we caught up with Newcastle United's Shefki Kuqi who as a child and with his family moved from the former Yugoslavia and claimed asylum in Finland.
"When I was a little kid my parents moved to Finland from Kosovo and I was there until I was about 14. I grew up in Finland - in the beginning it was really hard because I think we were one of the first foreign people to go to Finland and it was something they weren’t used to. It was hard but as you always do you’ve got to get on with your own thing and try and be as good as you can, think forward and one day it will all pass."
