Primary seven pupils from Forthview Primary School participated in an anti-racist education seminar at Spartans FC, organised by Show Racism the Red Card.
After watching the Show Racism the Red Card film the young people were given the opportunity to ask questions on racism to a panel which included ex-Rangers player Derek Ferguson, Spartans player Jack Beesley and City of Edinburgh Council Equalities Officer Jackie Mearns.
Following the question and answer session the pupils were given the opportunity to get autographs from Derek and Jack.
Jack Beesley said “I thought it was fantastic to see how much the children of Forthview Primary share Spartans’ support for the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ campaign. It was fascinating to hear the views and thoughts of the young people and we look forward to continue supporting the great work that the campaign does”.
Dee Kinning, Education Worker with Show Racism the Red Card added, “Spartans have been great supporters of the campaign over the years. The young people we speak to in Edinburgh clearly demonstrate support for the anti-racist message, we hope that they take that message back to their schools and their communities".
We would like to thank Forthview Primary School for attending this enjoyable and informative anti-racist education seminar.
