Show Racism the RED card attended the Welsh National Eisteddfod, where our Wales office shared a stall with Unison and launched our Education packs in the Welsh Language.
The National Eisteddfod is a Welsh festival of literature, music and performance.
It is the largest festival of competitive music and poetry in Europe and compromises of eight days of competitions and performances, entirely in the Welsh language.
SRtRC promoted community cohesion and diversity during the day providing visitors with resources and information about the key aims and objectives of the Campaign.
Around 15,000 people attended on the day and many were keen to show their support for SRtRC and were united in showing Racism the RED card.
Bhangra singer Bobby Singh performed at intervals throughout the day which attracted observers, while Patron / ex professional footballers Leroy Rosenior and Christian Roberts supported the day by talking to on goers about their experiences while playing.
A competition was run during the day in the form of a ‘keep up challenge’ where participants had the opportunity to show off their skills to Leroy and Christian in a ball juggling competition. The winner Luke Basset from Blaenau Gwent won with 132 keep ups and received a signed SRtRC shirt and Wales match tickets.
The day was successful in further promoting SRtRC and our message in Wales and launching the NEW Welsh Language Education packs
