John Hendrie Biography

John Hendrie played on the right wing or in attack.

In his career he played at a number of clubs including Coventry City, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and Barnsley, where he finished his career and went on to manage the club.

He played for Bradford City, where he played 173 consecutive league games over four seasons, winning one promotion and narrowly missing out on another. He spent a season at Leeds United – even though he played just one season at Leeds he was still voted in the top 100 Leeds players in 2000.

John has attended many Show Racism the Red Card events in the Yorkshire reason and has supported our campaign for many years; for this reason we are delighted to show our appreciation to him with a Show Racism the Red Card Hall of Fame award.
