Chris Powell Biography

Chris Powell is a former England international who has had a long playing career with spells at 8 different football clubs, including Southend United, Derby County, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United and Leicester City. Since 2005 he has also filled the post of Chairman at the Professional Footballers Association.

SRtRC were delighted when Chris decided to become an Honorary Patron of the campaign in 2002, following his participation in an event at Charlton Athletic FC. Since that time, Chris has attended many SRtRC events and taken part in the panel discussions. He has also presented prizes at prize giving ceremonies for the annual school competition and brought young professional footballers along to events with a view to them getting involved in the future. Chris was inducted in to the SRtRC Hall of Fame at the first ceremony in 2004.
